From Racing to Polo: Mt. Brilliant Farm Takes Thoroughbreds to the Top
 
Tucked away in the heart of Lexington’s horse country is Mt. Brilliant Farm, home to not only one of the most iconic Thoroughbred racehorse, but also to a fully operational polo farm complete with three fields, a training facility, and a successful polo breeding program. PS Polo sat down with Hutton Goodman and Kako Basualdo, the polo manager at Mt. Brilliant Farm, to discuss the start and future of Kentucky Polo.

Tonkawa Targets the Southwestern Regional Classic Trophy
 
Tonkawa met their opponent, BTA, in the competitive final over two days at Houston Polo Club to compete for the USPA Southwestern Regional Classic Trophy. Postponed due to heavy rainfall, the final two chukkers resumed on Wednesday, May 23, resulting in Tonkawa’s narrow win 9-8. Tommy Biddle was MVP and Best Playing Pony was Zena, played by BTA’s Mason Wroe.
 
 
 
Antelope Jr. Bounds Away with Lisle Nixon Memorial Final
 
Antelope Jr. defeated Antelope in the final of the Lisle Nixon Memorial at Santa Barbara Polo Club. Santi Trotz’ horse “Chava” was awarded Best Playing Pony and Jim Wright was named MVP.
 
 
 
Gladiator Polo™ Returns to TIEC June 8 for Three-Game ‘Battle for the Carolinas’ Series
 
After a successful inaugural season at Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC) in 2017, the fast-paced sport of Gladiator Polo™ is back for another month of action-packed competition.
 
 
 
Redemption for SD Farms in the Pete Bostwick Memorial Final
 
SD Farms challenged Banks Mill/Carolina Eastern for the Pete Bostwick Memorial trophy at New Bridge Polo & Country Club in. Previously losing by one goal in their first match up in bracket play, SD Farms maintained the lead throughout the game, claiming the title 10-6.Most Valuable Player was awarded to Tristan Hurley and Best Playing Pony was awarded to Julio Arellano’s Goosebumps.
 
 
 
Team USPA Welcomes Nine New Members
 
Team USPA welcomed Molly Agee, Lucas Arellano, Lauren Biddle, Mia Bray, Tony Calle, Justin Daniels, Grant Ganzi, Jake Klentner, and Sloan Stefanakis to the program after the final stage of selections took place in Aiken, South Carolina, May 18-20.
 
 
 
Dutta Corp Three-peats Sun Cup At Grand Champions
 
Dutta Corp captured its second three-peat of the spring season at Grand Champions Polo Club. Dutta Corp won the Sun Cup for the third consecutive year, defeating Newport for the second time in two years with an impressive 10-6 victory. Piki Diaz Alberdi was named MVP while Tambor, played by Lucas Diaz Alberdi, was Best Playing Pony.
 
 
 
2018 U.S. Handicap Changes
